Georgia: everybody smiles in the same language

Колись дуже давно (місяць тому) двадцять молодих, сміливих і цікавих людей з 4-х різних країн зібралися разом у далекому-далекому королівстві, щоб знайти відповідь на просте запитання: "Чи всі посміхаються однаково?"

Ці люди жили в красивому замку (петеушна общага), оточеному виноградниками. Вони грали в різноманітні ігри, енерджайзери, малювали яскраві картини, складали девізи і створювали плакати Loesje, співали пісні й танцювали. Але більшість свого часу вони сміялися! І, на перший погляд, були такими різними: посмішка кожного мала свою власну красу, енергію і світло! Та коли уважно поглянути…

Вам все ще цікаво, хто всі ці люди? І що звело їх разом?

На молодіжний обмін “Everybody smiles in the same language” зібралися громадські активісти з Естонії, Литви, України та Грузії в сонячній Кахетії, щоб дослідити питання толерантності та спробувати зламати стереотипи один про одного. Що із цього всього вийшло?

• Ми  навчилися їсти хінкалі і пити чачу.
• Ми побували в славетному Сігнагі, грузинському місті кохання, і дехто з нас навіть закохався.
• Ми всі здружилися з естонцями і тільки тоді зрозуміли, що популярний стереотип про них – ніякий не стереотип.
• Ми грати в баскетбол із литовцями і на власному досвіді побачили, чому саме баскетбол – їхня національна гра.
• Ми танцювали український гопак, а наступного ранку, страждаючи від крепатури в ногах, зрозуміли, чому цей танець козацький!

А ще варто їхати на такі обміни, щоб почати цінувати свою власну культуру, традиції, пісні і танці. І щоб нарешті зрозуміти: незважаючи на всі відмінності, ми, human beings, однакові. І всі посміхаємося однією мовою. Із любов'ю.

Once upon a time 20 young, brave and curious people from 4 different countries came together to the Kingdom of Far Far Away to find the answer to a simple question: “Does everybody smile in the same language?”

All these people lived in a beautiful castle surrounded by the vineyards. They played simultaneous games, drew bright paintings, made up mottos and Loesje posters, sang the songs and danced together. But most of the time they were laughing! And everybody seemed so different at first sight! Everybody had their own beauty, energy and light in the smile! But when you take a closer look you’ll notice that…

Are you still curious who all these people are? What has brought them together? And why was it so important to answer this question?

Youth Exchange gave the opportunity for groups of young people from Estonia, Lithuania and Ukraine to meet with Georgians in their beautiful country to break the stereotypes about each other. So…

We all learned how to eat khinkali and how to drink chacha.

We visited Sighnaghi, "Love City" in Georgia, and some of us even fell in love.

We all became good friends with Estonians and realized that a common stereotype about them isn’t a stereotype at all J

We played basketball with the Lithuanians and after that understood why it is their national sport.

We danced the Ukrainian dance Gopak and next morning, suffering from pain in the legs, realized why it is a Cossack dance.

And one of the most important things that happened during this YE was the awareness of the real value of our own culture, traditions, songs and dances.

But despite of all our differences, we, human beings, are all the same. We all smile in the same language. With Love.
